Imagine stepping into a former laboratory in Paris, now transformed into the beating heart of Acne Studios. What once echoed with the cold precision of science has been reborn as a sanctuary of creativity and quiet power. Minimalist lines meet monumental gestures; concrete, glass, and light compose an atmosphere that is at once raw and refined. More than a building, it stands as a manifesto of modern luxury and a reflection of Acne Studios’ fearless vision.

This is the brand’s new Paris headquarters, a space where identity, design, and innovation converge. Hidden at the end of a quiet courtyard on Rue des Petites-Écuries, Acne Studios’ new Paris headquarters unites all the brand’s departments under one roof. The historic four-story building, dating back to the 18th century, blends original architectural details with contemporary interventions, including curated artworks and collectible pieces.

Acne Studios

Acne Studios is a Swedish fashion house celebrated for its bold yet understated approach to style. Founded in Stockholm, it began as a creative collective and quickly evolved into one of the world’s most influential voices in contemporary design.

The Studio embodies a vision of modern luxury where minimalism meets bold expression, turning everyday essentials into unexpected statements. Each collection feels like a wink to the unconventional, blending clean lines with playful surprises, proving that luxury doesn’t have to be serious.

Known for its clean silhouettes, unexpected details, and effortless cool, Acne Studios transforms everyday pieces into something quietly iconic, redefining what modern luxury can feel like.

Acne Studio’s Historic Canvas for Modern Creativity:

Located in a promising corner of Paris’ 10th arrondissement, Acne Studios’ new headquarters occupies a historic four-story hôtel particulier, blending layers of the city’s past with contemporary design. The building, originally constructed in 1926 by the Prevet family, served as a laboratory until the 1980s, producing plant-based oils and dyes, including the famed niaouli extract, Gomenol.

Its transformation into a creative hub was guided by the brand’s co-founder and creative director, Jonny Johansson, in collaboration with Stockholm studio Halleroed. ‘Our main goal was to respect the history of the space while injecting a fresh, modern energy,’ Johansson explains.

Organized around a central courtyard, the headquarters preserves meticulously restored details, from gilded moldings to parquet floors, which contrast strikingly with contemporary interventions, such as Max Lamb’s pink vinyl sofa and a raw concrete showroom crowned with a vaulted glass-tiled ceiling. The result is a dialogue between past and present, a space that reflects Acne Studios’ visionary approach while honoring its architectural and cultural roots.

Stepping inside Acne Studios’ new Paris headquarters, the dialogue between heritage and reinvention becomes immediately clear. What was once a 1930s laboratory now unfolds as a stage for the brand’s creativity, where raw structures meet meticulous design interventions.

The showroom occupies the former laboratory, embracing its raw industrial character while elevating it with carefully curated lighting and bespoke furniture. Concrete pillars and a vaulted glass ceiling set the stage for stainless-steel clothing racks and pink anodized-aluminum shelving, a signature brand color that, as Jonny Johansson admits, ‘I hated for a while, but it grew on me.’

Seating wrapped in blush vinyl by longtime collaborator Max Lamb add warmth and tactility, creating a space that feels both functional and artful. In this environment, the industrial past and contemporary design converge, turning the showroom into a true laboratory of fashion and creativity.

Arriving at Acne Studios’ Paris headquarters means stepping into restored gilded details and warm parquet floors that set a tone of elegance. Contemporary artworks, including sculptures by Daniel Silver, punctuate the historic setting, creating an unexpected dialogue between the past and the present. The result is an entrance that serves as the brand’s calling card: sophisticated, artistic, and with just the right dose of irreverence that defines Acne Studios’ DNA.

Canteen: A Palette of Calm

If the showroom embodies the brand’s bold creativity, the canteen offers its counterpoint: a space of pause, community, and understated design. Bright and welcoming, it channels Acne Studios’ minimalist DNA while keeping warmth at its core.

Tucked away in the basement, the canteen reveals a softer, more intimate side of Acne Studios’ headquarters. Here, the colour story shifts from the crisp whites, blush pinks, and metallic accents of the upper floors to a palette of muted tones, punctuated by deep blue: a nod to both Scandinavian restraint and the denim heritage of the brand.

Artworks from past shows and designer collaborations bring personality to the space, transforming it from a functional dining area into an artistically curated retreat. As Christian Halleroed notes, the intent was to create calm and cohesion while highlighting contrast: a balance between classical elegance and contemporary rawness, distilled into an environment where creativity finds room to breathe even in moments of pause.

Outside, the headquarters extends its creative ethos into the open air. The entrance courtyard is punctuated by a striking sculpture of Vênus de Milo, by Daniel Silver, establishing an immediate sense of artistry and presence before visitors even step inside. Beyond this, a landscaped garden invites both work and relaxation, furnished with tables and benches by Max Lamb that blend functionality with sculptural elegance.

The careful interplay of art, design, and greenery creates a seamless transition from city street to private creative haven, an exterior that reflects Acne Studios’ vision of spaces where form, function, and inspiration coexist effortlessly.

Other areas:

Beyond the showroom and communal areas, the headquarters reveals more private and contemplative spaces. The VIP fitting room, furnished with sculptural seating by Lukas Gschwandtner, offers an intimate, tactile experience for select visitors, combining comfort with design precision. Upstairs, one of the monastic-style studios provides a quiet retreat for focused work, its minimalist aesthetic and thoughtful layout fostering creativity and concentration.

Together, these areas reinforce the building’s balance between public display and private reflection, making every corner of Acne Studios’ headquarters a carefully curated experience of form, function, and artistry.

House of Fashion And Laboratory of Ideas

Ultimately, Acne Studios’ new Paris headquarters is not simply a place of work; it is a living canvas where art, architecture, and fashion converge. Every gilded moulding, every raw concrete column, every curated artwork speaks to the brand’s commitment to creating environments as bold and unconventional as its collections.

By transforming a former laboratory into a space of elegance, contrast, and imagination, Acne Studios proves that architecture can be more than backdrop; it can be an active force in shaping identity.

In Paris, the brand has crafted not just a headquarters, but a manifesto: a vision of creativity unafraid to blur boundaries, challenge conventions, and redefine what a fashion house can be.
